Day 27

Almost a month into this thing and I haven’t missed a day!
Woop woop!
I know I haven’t written much lately, I’ve just been so busy. This cooking everyday for Whole30 and working and everything else I have going on just makes for little time. But I promise I’ll post something later this week. I owe you guys an update on the weight loss.
To date:
12 pounds down
24 inches down
I only lost two pounds this week which was a little surprising since I lost so much the first week but it definitely makes sense. My body is getting used to my new eating habits.
I feel good about it though, not stressing 🙂

Day 24

If you look closely in this picture you’ll see some black specks, those are birds! We saw them as they were migrating south. Hundreds of them, the line went on for about an hour. It was honestly such a cool sight to see.

Whole30 has been going well. I’m starting to realize more and more how much I mindlessly snacked throughout the day. I catch myself pretty often reaching for one of the candy jars on my desk to grab a snack but I stop myself before I grab it. Other than that I haven’t really had a craving for sweets or junk food. Which is pretty cool honestly.

This may be from the lack of sugar or just from the fact that I have so much on my plate and on my mind. It’s constant. If I stop to think about everything in my life it’s as if with the more thoughts I welcome, the heavier my shoulders become. The tighter my chest gets. Even writing about it right now I can feel myself holding onto my breath. I’m worried that my mental health is slipping a bit. I have no idea how to fix it because of what I’m facing. I’ve never been in this situation before and I just don’t know what to do.
Voiceless in a room of crowded thoughts.

Day 21

I spent the better part of my day organizing the garage.
We still had things in boxes from when we were moving to Binnacle street, it’s been over a year so you can imagine how much that was driving me crazy but I felt too lazy to do anything about it. I can start to feel the changes. I’m not sure if it’s Whole30 or just my mentality but I feel like I’m more on it.
I’m proud of myself.
Above you have the before picture, and below you’ll see the after. I promise it might look just as messy but it’s way more organized.

Day 20

I haven’t been writing lately. Forgive me?
I recently received some news that rocked my world. So the past few days have been spent distracting myself. Keeping my mind busy. Trying to enjoy these few days of a break before I have to step back into reality.
I know with Whole30 you aren’t supposed to weigh yourself. But with my school district we were offered a chance to do a program called Omada. It’s this health app that gives you lessons about daily nutrition and real life problems you can tackle when you’re trying to lose weight. You have a coach that can give you further guidance and a support group to lean on. I started that program in October. It didn’t help or motivate me as much as Whole30 is but I think that may be because I wasn’t ready yet. Anyway, the point of talking about Omada is that with this program you’re supposed to weigh yourself everyday. A lot of the reason being so that you can see how your weight fluctuates.
I weighed myself at the beginning of Whole30. I’ve decided to update you guys on my pounds lost every week. I also measured myself Day 1, I like to record inches because I feel like sometimes you see more of a difference there. So I measured my neck, shoulders, chest, waist, hips, arms, thighs, and calves. (I might have mentioned this in an earlier post) I decided that I’m going to measure myself once a week too.
I am happy to report that as of this morning I am down 10 pounds and 12 inches.
I looked at myself in the mirror today and I still couldn’t really see a difference, but I felt one.
Here’s to kicking some booty Week 2! 🙂
